1. Barnacle Goose Branta leucopsis (center), with Canada Geese B. canadensis, Machias, Maine, USA, June 18, 2004. This bird was associating with a group of 8 Canada Geese on the Machias River. Who knows where it came from. Though this individual showed no obvious signs of captivity (no bands, tags or missing flight feathers), Barnacle Goose is a popular species in wildfowl collections.
