1. Great-winged Petrel Pterodroma macroptera gouldi, Monterey Bay, California, USA, October 18, 1998. The extensive white around the base of the bill and on the throat identify this individual as belonging to the form gouldi, which breeds on islands off the North Island of New Zealand.  This was the second record for North America.
