septentrionalis, adult, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, District of Columbia,
USA, October 29, 2006. On the right wing, note the worn outer primaries (P10-4)
contrasting with the fresh inner primaries. There are also two new secondaries
(looks like S7 and S10?) partially grown in (there are four molt centers in the
secondaries/tertials of Cathartidae). Nikon D80; Nikkor
